We picked up more than 200 bags of litter, we painted the apartments, we collected tires, paint, appliances, scrap metal and electronics for recycling. Check out the photos below.
Volunteers picked up more than 200 bags of litter. We even had folks help us clean garbage out of the river.
And a lot of hard work.
HUGE SHOUT OUT AND THANK YOU to those individuals and businesses that helped make this transformation happen:
- The Paint Bucket & Benjamin Moore - who helped us out with paint.
- Foothills Water - who helped us out when we discovered none of the spigots worked for power washing
- Carmen LuTurco - who helped us with a paint sprayer
-Elevation Construction - who had a massively powerful power washer to get the grime off
- Ed Hayslett - who lead the paint spraying effort and had all the tools to make taping 10 times faster than us normal folks.
- Deb Wilkes - who dealt with cables and wires and stuff on the building to clean that up
And ALL the other volunteers who helped out both during prep and during painting.
From the recycling sites -- that's a lot of paint, appliances & metal, oh so many tires and, a whole lot of old technology. It was a much bigger collection than we anticipated, but hopefully a purge that helps everyone.
Special thanks and a big shout out to Matt Dambrosky at Chimney Doctors Of Colorado for all his help and support on the appliances and scrap metal site, Emily & John Martin for letting us use their property for the tire and technology recycling, and Jim Glenn from McGraw Park and Bailey Water for letting us use their site for the paint recycling.
