For over four decades, Crow Hill Insurance has been a trusted resource for Bailey residents and businesses. Founded in 1982 by Duke and Peg Dozier, the agency was later taken over by Gail Crawford, who has dedicated 30+ years to serving the community. Now, as Gail transitions toward retirement, Bryan Hutchison is stepping in to continue Crow Hill's legacy of exceptional customer service and personalized insurance solutions.
A Bailey native, Bryan is a graduate of Platte Canyon High School and Monfort College of Business at the University of Northern Colorado. His story with his wife, Beth (Crawford), is one of full-circle moments—they grew up together, played high school sports in the same circles, and even had a college date that didn’t go anywhere. Life took them in different directions, but they reconnected in 2008 and married in 2009. Bryan ran his family’s business, Hutchison Lumber (now Moore Lumber), while Beth built a career in education and now leads the history department at Valor Christian.
Before joining Crow Hill, Bryan spent over a decade with Habitat for Humanity, focusing on fundraising, home-building initiatives, and working with county officials to address community needs. As he considered a career shift, he spent two years preparing to enter the insurance industry, learning from mentors and gaining insight into coverage and risk management. Now, as Crow Hill's third owner, he is committed to upholding its strong reputation while introducing modern enhancements in IT and client communication.
Crow Hill Insurance offers personal and commercial coverage, including home, auto, umbrella policies, general liability, workers' compensation, and commercial auto. With the current insurance market in turmoil, Bryan is dedicated to helping clients navigate policy changes and ensuring they have adequate protection. Rising premiums, severe weather events, and increased auto claims all present challenges, but his goal is to provide expert guidance tailored to each client’s needs.
The industry has seen a sharp rise in claimable events, from the devastating Marshall Fire to record-breaking hailstorms. Auto insurance has also been disrupted by longer repair times, supply chain issues, and an increasing number of uninsured or underinsured drivers.
Bryan strongly emphasizes the importance of carrying uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage to protect against financial hardships.
Additionally, shifts like the rise of surplus carriers and Colorado’s new state fair plan as a last-resort insurance option are reshaping the market. Bryan is proactive in researching best practices from other states and ensuring Crow Hill clients receive policies from reputable, highly rated carriers.
Crow Hill Insurance prioritizes educating clients on how industry changes affect their coverage. From providing insights on risk factors, assisting longtime residents or new homeowners with homeowners insurance or explaining how certain vehicle models impact policies to providing insights on risk factors, Bryan and his team ensure clients make informed decisions.
With a blend of tradition and innovation, Bryan is dedicated to keeping Crow Hill Insurance a pillar of support for the Bailey community focused on personalized service, reliable coverage, and community engagement.
